The Barleyshakes plus Preacher’s Son
The Barleyshakes originally formed in Ireland in the early 90s and went on to do extremely well all over Europe until they moved to Australia in 2000. Since shifting to Australia the band have recorded on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack and performed at the major festivals in Australia. This Purty Loft date will be the only Dublin reunion show for the band this year.
The Irish line up of the Shakes includes drummer Dave Hingerty who recently recorded with Luka Bloom on his album 11 Songs; Alan Doherty formerly of the band Grada is one of the most gifted and spirited flautist in the world; Mark Heffernan on percussion and bodhran plays a wonderful collection of instruments from around the globe; Kristin Kelly is the Barleyshakes Australian born gifted fiddler; guitarist, vocalist and bodhranist Alan Kelly fronts the band with wild fun filled positive energy. It has been 6 years since the Barleyshakes appeared to a packed house at Mother Redcaps and this is a night not to be missed.
