The Angelus are a hard-playing Dublin six-piece whose live shows are a wall of infectious noise and well-wrought tunes. Featuring duelling guitars, violin, bass, drums, and whiskey-strained vocals, their sound is hard to pigeonhole, filtering elements of blues, folk, and good ol’ rock and roll to craft their own inimitable sound. Following a lengthy hiatus, this show marks the band’s return to live performance, and just in time for Christmas too. Also playing on the night we have Homebrew and the Bad Examples, Dublin’s finest country/rockabilly practitioners (RIP Homebrew) and Hugh Dean Taggart with his high and lonesome bluegrass sound.
