Ham Sandwich, The Jane Bradfords, Take The Money And Run

Since winning the Meteor Award for Hope of 2008 on the day their debut album was released, Ham Sandwich have toured across Ireland and the UK, including Glastonbury Festival. Having taken themselves off to a secluded log cabin to write new songs, thoughts have turned to a follow up. This special State / Club AU Presents… show should provide a few clues.

Belfast’s The Jane Bradfords are difficult to pigeonhole into a genre; on the surface they’re Indie, but elements of Pop, Electro and even post punk are all in the mix. There’s the nonchalant swagger of The National, the driving, tight Peter Hook style bass and at times the euphoric hosannas of Arcade Fire, but they have a defiantly unique sound.

Take The Money And Run are an exciting new name from Dundalk, already starting to make a splash following the recent release of their debut EP. They have been described as a blend of narcissistic, distortionless, face melting, hair straightening, melodic, alternative Rock and/or Roll, that always go down smooth. All four band members share an unrequited love and infatuation with Ryan Adams, and this inspiration is vivid in their music, as well as a debt to Radiohead, Joy Division and R.E.M.

Plus State DJs till late.
