Sound like:
Indefatigable pop rock mixed with earworm melodies to give a strong new wave rock sound with a hint of ska and funk.

Influences:
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones, The Strokes, James Brown, David Bowie and ‘The Spiders From Mars’ and Madness.

The band:
Founded in 2003, they have a shoeless craz’d front-man, a busker from the streets of Barcelona, a drummer with a wacky style of beats, one Beatle-esk Liverpool rocker and a giant of a bass player.

Album called :
“Rocketship”
Recorded over the past 12 months in Pulse Studios Dublin. Tony Perry and Billy Farrell recorded and produced.

What they’ve done:
Following their successful appearances at this years Irish festivals – Electric Picnic, Castle Palooza, After Life & more.

2007 has been the most successful year to date for the band. They began the year with a Balcony TV nomination for best band and continued swiftly with the release of Rocket Ship to critical acclaim. Subsequently this high octane song was included on the soundtracks for two surfing documentaries over the summer and a video for the song will be out in January 2008. The band have also had a further two tracks used on large TV advertising campaigns – exposing them to a wider audience.

With 60+ gigs under their belt this year already, Red Kid’s live shows have been described as “legendary” and “effortlessly swinging from rock to pop to punk”. “No Reason”, the bands second single from their debut album “Rocket Ship” is due for release in January. Recorded in the legendary Pulse recording studios, which has previously occupied artists such as Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Brian Adams and Bon Jovi. “Rocket Ship” comes from a collective love of The Beatles, The Strokes, The Rolling Stones, Talking Heads and The Velvet Underground to name but a few.

Re: Rocket Ship + Soup
“Rocket Ship, storms a path between the Sex Pistols and the Beach Boys and is totally ace, obviously. The second flipper is also ace, being a jaunty, Blur-ish on the meths with The Small Faces, excellent stuff. These people are brilliant, love them alot and then love them some more! – Unpeeled.co.uk

Re: “Rocket Ship”
“…a cracking tune that never lets up in pace. The band are renowned for their frantic delivery and chaotic shows – they have succeeded in capturing some of that energy on record. Singer Ronan Turner delivers some nice’n’sleazy CBGBs vocal creating, with some help from the other boys, a chorus that will stay in your mind for weeks.” HOTPRESS

Re: Red Kid
“With RedKid we found the perfect energetic pacey sound to compliment our upbeat surf sessions, to show our audience that these silver surfers have still got it” Naomi Britton, Producer.

Re: Red Kid and Rocket Ship
