The Dirty 9s, Audio & Pocket Promise

Once more State.ie comes together with Club AU for a night of seriously fine Irish music. The Dirty 9s have been together in their current line up since just 2008. So called after the less than flattering nickname given to their local bus service -the 39, the Dublin five piece first came to the public’s attention when they won Deis Roc on TG4. Following their win, the band were invited to perform four tracks on BBC Scotland’s music show- Rapal, which aired in January. With their €10,000 winnings from Deis Roc, they enlisted the services of producer Greg Haver (Manic Street Preachers, Super Furry Animals et al) and commenced recording their debut album, “Stop Screaming, Start Dreaming” in September 2008. The first track from their debut was heard when “Corridors” was chosen for the Hot Press/Oxfam compilation CD shortly after the album’s completion.

The start of 2009 saw the band selected by the Hot Press/New York Film School to have a music video made for their song “Lucy Opus”. In April they were chosen to perform on the IMRO showcase tour in Andrews Lane Theatre. Currently the boys are on an Irish gig and radio tour which will include the Junction Festival and Knockanstockan. Their debut album, “Stop Screaming, Start Dreaming” will be released later this year.

Hailing from England, Ireland and Argentina Audio’s music is a mix of haunting melodies, driving bass lines and beats to make the lame dance. In a nutshell - ‘A three Piece Orchestra’. The limited edition E.P. ‘From Scratch’ is currently available to buy directly from the band. at any of the forth coming gigs. A live experience not to be missed - so DON’T. The Battle Plan is simple - Domination of the Decibel…

Pocket Promise are yet another feisty offering from the Belfast music scene, an alternative rock band who play melodic, passionate and urgent music.
